American rapper-songwriter Austin Richard Post, known as Post Malone, gained prominence with his successful debut song “White Iverson”. With his own vocal style, Post Malone became a hip-hop superstar with several multi-platinum hits, including “Rockstar” (with 21 Savage) and the Grammy-nominated single “Sunflower” (with Swae Lee).
The rapper was born in Syracuse, New York, on July 4, 1995 and raised by his father after his parents divorced. He grew up listening to different kind of music genres, such as rock, country, and hip-hop. As the fan of a game Guitar Hero, he was inspired to learn guitar and had a dream to be in a band. His father gave him a copy of Terror Squad’s “Lean Back” and made him decided to be a rapper. He was only 16 when he made his first mixtape, titled Young and After Them Riches and received positive response from his schoolmates.
After quitting the college, Post moved to Los Angeles where he started writing his debut song “White Iverson” along with the producers. He then uploaded it to SoundCloud and released the music video in 2015. The song became his major breakthrough with million views within a month. In the same year, he signed a record deal to Republic Records. As he rose to fame, he was invited to perform in Kylie Jenner’s birthday and got a collaboration offer from Kanye West. In 2016, Post became the opening act for Justin Bieber’s Purpose World Tour. His next song “Go Flex” was released on Beats 1 show and was followed with a full-length mixtape, August 26. In order to promote the recent mixtape, he went on The Hollywood Dreams Tour. At the end of the year, a full-length debut album Stoney was finally launched, featuring the lead single “Congratulations” (with Quavo) and debuted on the Billboard 200 chart. The album included 14 songs, such as “White Iversion” and “Go Flex”.

He continued to dominate the music charts with the next effort. In 2017, he premiered “Rockstar”, one of the songs he put in the upcoming album. The song successfully peaked at the top on the Billboard Hot 100 and stayed for several weeks. In 2018, “Psycho”, a collaboration song with Ty Dolla Sign was released and gained another success. Post issued the album Beerbongs & Bentleys in April 2018, featuring the hit “Rockstar” and was commercially successful. His effort even received double-platinum certification in Canada, New Zealand, and the US. In 2019, the set was also nominated at the Grammy Awards for Album of the Year.
Branching out to mainstream, Post Malone collaborated with Swae Lee in the soundtrack of Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse, “Sunflower”. The single successfully topped the music charts worldwide. He made a brief change in the next production, Hollywood’s Bleeding which featured great musicians, Travis Scott, Halsey, SZA, and many more. It entered the Billboard 200 and stayed for around five weeks. Meanwhile, the single “Circles” that was included in the album, also became a chart-topper. He also earned two Grammy nominations for the major hit “Sunflower”.
